Dr. Carrie LaMere Anderson was inspired to pursue her veterinary career path by her mother and her mother’s love of animals. She grew up in Crown Point with various pets and when she got her first horse she set her mind on becoming a veterinarian. She was an active member of Lake County 4-H for 10 years growing up. After graduating from Andrean High School she attended Purdue University and graduated from the Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. After working at a mixed animal practice near Indianapolis for 8 years after graduation, she moved back to Crown Point to raise her children.
She fulfilled her dream of owning her own veterinary hospital when she opened Hometown Animal Hospital in the spring of 2011. With almost 23 years of experience she is committed to helping improve the lives of the dogs and cats who are so important to the families she serves.
She has enjoyed coaching local soccer, basketball, cheerleading and volleyball teams, and continues to be active in Lake County 4-H with her children. She has 3 dogs, several barn cats, 2 miniature horses and 4 horses that she rides and shows locally with her 2 daughters. She spends much of her free time watching her kids play their various sports.
